60 Minute Rolls

Really – these rolls only take 60 minutes.  I think this recipe came from my Kitchen-Aid cookbook but I’m not sure.  I’ve been making them a long time!  They’re quick (for rolls), easy and delicious.

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4-5 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 pkg. yeast

Combine milk, water and butter and heat to 120 or 130 degrees.

In bowl, combine 3-1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast.  Gradually add warm liquids to flour mixture.  Mix.  Add remaining flour until soft dough forms.  Knead.  Let rise in greased bowl 15 minutes.

Shape into rolls (I make 16).  Let rise 15 minutes.

Bake at 400 degrees for 7 or 8 minutes or until light golden brown.  Brush each roll with melted butter.

My name is Patty & I'm a full-time homemaker. I've been a full-time homemaker most of my adult life. I thought I'd probably go back to work when my kids were grown, and I did briefly, but I came back home as soon as my first grandchild was born. I learned that home was my favorite place to be and homemaking was and is my calling.

  1. I was looking for an easy roll to make for us to have with our dinner this evening. I have never been disappointed with your recipes, so your blog was the first place I looked for a recipe. This recipe jumped out because of the 60 minutes (yes, I was certainly not thinking ahead) and oh my goodness was it delicious! This is most certainly going to be a regular at our house. As always, thank you so much for sharing so many wonderful things with us.
