A Better Way to Drink Soda Out of a Can

I’m a big fan of soda (don’t bother telling me it’s not good for me – I already know that!).  I’ve had it a lot of different ways but my favorite is from a 20 ounce bottle or a 12 ounce can – except that I hate drinking out of a can.  I don’t like the taste of metal or the way the can feels against my mouth. (Surely I’m not the only one who feels that way!)

Anyway, I usually pour a cold can of soda into a glass without ice. Yum. But sometimes I have to drink it out of the can.  If I do, this solution makes it 10 times more bearable:

soda can lid and straw

soda can lid and straw

soda can lid and straw

As an added bonus, if you’re drinking your can of soda outside, this clever lid and straw will keep the bugs out!  And if the can happens to get knocked over, it won’t spill as fast either.

I picked up a set of two at Wal-mart for $3.97.  If you can’t find them at your local store, you can order them from Amazon.

Have you seen these before? Would you use them?  What’s your favorite way to drink soda?

My fave part of drinking soda is having lots of ice….it never stays cold in the can

  2. I’m with you on the refrigerated cold soda – love it cold from the fridge, but not in the can. Probably because when we were kids, we were convinced we’d cut our lips off from the sharp edge. Never saw those straws – clever idea. But if we have any at home, it’s usually bottles, so I don’t know that they’d be useful here. Also, call me weird, but I feel like the only straw that works for me is from McDonald’s – they are the perfect diameter.

I love drinking it from the can!!! In fact, I’ve discoverd I drink way more water when I simply refill my pop cans with water from the drinking fountain at work, simply because I like the cans so much…guess I’m the wierdo here. J
