I’ve talked about this before, the miraculous discovery that my kitchen-aid paddle attachment will shred chicken (I also discovered that a regular hand mixer works, too – Hate Shredding Chicken? Don’t Have a Kitchen-Aid? This is For You!). No more forks and aching hands. Throw it in, chop it up and you’re done!
But just in case you don’t believe me, because it definitely sounds too good to be true, here’s the proof:
Boil the chicken. Remove from pan and place on cutting board.
Cut chicken breasts into halves. I don’t know if you absolutely have to do this but I did.
Put the chicken in the kitchen-aid bowl with the paddle attachment.
Process the chicken for about 45 seconds on low speed. And there you have it – beautifully shredded chicken in a fraction of the time it takes with two forks. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it.
I have a friend who has a stand-up mixer that isn’t a Kitchen-Aid. Her mixer has two beaters instead of one paddle. She tried shredding her chicken with her mixer and it worked just fine.
So next time you need shredded chicken, skip the forks and use your Kitchen-Aid. It’s a miracle!!!
