If you need a last minute gift or a snack to take to Christmas dinner, these Candied Pecans are SO easy to make and taste amazing!
- 1 pound pecan halves
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¾ teaspoon salt
Add 1 tablespoon of water to the egg white. Beat with an electric mixer until frothy — not foamy (it only takes about 20 or 30 seconds). Add sugar, cinnamon and salt. Stir until you have a thick, gooey mixture, well mixed. Gently fold in pecan halves until pecans are well-coated.
Spread pecans on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 225 degrees for 45 minutes BUT every 15 minutes use a spatula and gently turn.
Let pecans cool. Loosen from pan and put in airtight container.
Be careful . . . you can’t eat just one.
