From the back of the Heath Bits bag
My family LOVES cookies and this is one of their favorites. For a while I was making them ALL the time! Now we’ve slowed down a bit but I still make them often.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup shortening
- ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1-1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1-1/3 cups (8 oz. package) Heath Milk Chocolate Toffee Bits, divided
Directions:
Beat shortening, brown sugar, peanut butter, milk and vanilla in large bowl until well blended. Add egg; beat until blended.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually beat into peanut butter mixture. Stir in 1 cup toffee bits; reserve remainder for topping. Drop by heaping teaspoon (I use my cookie scoop) about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Top each with reserved toffee bits (I use a spoon to press down center of dough and sprinkle toffee bits there). Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until set. Cool 2 minutes. Cool completely. 3 or 4 dozen.
