I’m Baaaack!!!

Working at my desk

OKAY, so I know I said I was taking the month of July off but apparently I changed my mind (I’m known to do that – frequently!).  The truth is, I missed the blog.  It’s a creative outlet for all those ideas I get and it gives my day structure.  So I took part of a month off (okay – it was just 5 days) and now I’m back.

I WAS a little embarrassed about coming back waaaay before the month was over so I wasn’t going to say anything in case no one noticed.  But my friend, Suzanne, suggested it might be a good idea to say something so no one would be confused about whether the mysterious posts showing up while I was “on vacation” were new or old or just spam.  So, here’s the official announcement –

HOWEVER, I wanted to let you know that in the future, I may not be posting every single day like I have been.  I will probably continue to post most days, but if I get the urge to take a day or two off because I’m overwhelmed, exhausted or just sick of it, I’m going to do it.  I just wanted to give you a head’s up so you won’t be surprised or worried.

AND one last thing, I’m changing the schedule a little bit.  Fixer upper updates will be on Friday instead of Tuesday.

SO THANKS for sticking with me and reading the blog.  There wouldn’t be any point in doing this if it weren’t for you.

  1. This is YOUR blog so you can do with it what you wish. Skipping days will add to your creativity and re-charge you. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

    1. Thank you, Pat. My family has suggested for a while that I take days off now and then but I felt like I couldn’t. But you’re right, my posting schedule is up to me. Thanks for the confirmation!

  2. So glad to hear you’re back…..mostly! AND so glad to hear you’ll take a day or two off whenever you feel like it! Everybody should take a break sometime. I will look forward to your blog anytime it’s there with your housekeeping hints, recipes (with your changes and suggestion to make it better or easier), home improvement updates and organization ideas. I’m still gonna try out some kind of planner and see if that helps me and my busy life but I’ve never used one in all my 63 years! I’ve only been using a computer for 5-6 years but I think I’m getting pretty good on it so maybe this “old dog” can learn a new trick! You seem to recommend them and live by it so one of these days I’m gonna take the plunge! I will be sure to chime in on those posts on planners once I have something to say. My BIG revelation this week reading your older posts was learning that there is a pop in tab on the sides of plastic wrap and foil!!! WOW!! I never knew that! BTW I notice on your homepage you show how many people like you on Facebook. I don’t know if you get “credit” or something for that number… but I don’t do facebook….sorry. Let me know if you get something and I will sign up!

    1. Carol- that aluminum foil/plastic wrap trick is AMAZING! I’d been using that stuff forever and didn’t know about that either. I can’t tell you how many times the aluminum foil rolled across the floor! But not anymore.

I really do recommend a planner – highly. Even with all the struggles with it I’ve had lately, I would never try to function without one. If you decide to take the plunge and need some help choosing one, email me and I can help you.

  3. Glad you’re back! But don’t let the blog become your ball and chain. Your faithful readers will understand!

  4. Love to read your posts, so of course glad to see you back. But like others have said – it’s your blog! You decide and we’ll keep reading whenever you post. I don’t post every day, either. I’m happier to do it when it works best and I feel the right words coming.

  5. I love how you’re using your gifts of creativity, planning, service, and communicating (I could go on!) to share your ideas and recipes. This is such a helpful and encouraging blog for anyone, no matter what the level of experience or age. Thanks so much, and definitely take time off to refresh!

  6. I don’t have much to add to what others have said, but just wanted to let you know it’s nice to have you back! I have you on my feedly, so it doesn’t matter how often you post, I won’t forget to check because it comes automatically. 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

  7. So glad you are back! Really, really glad. Using your recipes and various tips lately has helped me so much so thank you.
