We have tacos a lot. Our spread usually includes:
- Seasoned beef
- Sometimes seasoned chicken
- Black beans or Pinto beans
- Refried beans
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped tomatoes
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped onion
- Cheese dip
- Tortilla chips
- Taco shells
- Tortilla shells
Most of the members of my family use tortilla shells to create their masterpieces. My husband likes to spread his tortilla shell with refried beans, then a hard taco with fillings, and then fold it like a taco.
I used to put the tortilla shells on a plate and then heat them in the microwave. That worked okay. But then I found a Tortilla Keeper and it worked AWESOME!
You put the tortilla shells in the Keeper – the fajita size or smaller work best. Put the Keeper in the microwave without the lid. Microwave the tortillas for a couple of minutes. Remove the Tortilla Keeper, put the lid on, and your tortillas stay nice and warm.
To clean up the Tortilla Keeper, just wipe it out with a damp rag and put it away until next time.
You can purchase a Tortilla Keeper at most major stores that sell housewares. They’re about $10.
