Not Enough Storage in the Bathroom? A Tote Can Help.

Bathroom Tote

My morning routine requires a lot of products – you know, soap, shampoo, razor, shaving cream, makeup, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.  In the past I’ve been fortunate to have great storage so I could keep everything handy.

But for the last 3 months David and I lived with our son and daughter-in-law and we all shared one small bathroom.  The bathroom had enough storage for the two of them but not for all four of us.

Our solution? A bathroom tote for each of us.  We kept them upstairs in our room but carried them down when it was our turn for the bathroom.  David used a smaller plastic tote we already had.  I probably picked it up at Wal-mart for a couple of bucks.

I tried using a similar plastic tote but it didn’t work well for me.  So I went shopping and found this great mesh tote at Target for about $10.  It had a large center section with pockets all the way around.  It worked great!!!

So if you find yourself in a situation where you have inadequate storage space or have to share a bathroom, either of these totes might make your bathroom routine a little bit easier.

Do you have adequate storage in your bathroom? If not, where do you store your stuff?

  1. I actually have adequate storage in the bathroom. The problem I’m facing is the strange layout of our bathroom. and the tight space near the toilet. We are about to undergo potty training with our toddler son. and as of now, we will pretty much have to keep the potty chair in the middle of the room. :/ I suppose I should focus on the positive and be glad that diapers are on their way out, and the potty chair is a temporary fixture.

    • Oh, bummer. I mean the part about having the potty chair in the middle of the room.

When my granddaughter potty trained, she didn’t use a potty chair. Her mom got one of those seats you put on the regular seat and she used that – most of the time. Sometimes she didn’t even bother with it – she just sat on the regular potty. She never really liked the potty chair.

But you’re right – it won’t last forever and then you’ll be free of diapers! In the meantime, though, I feel your pain.
