I mean, literally! How about instead of spending all your change, you put it in a jar and save it for something you REALLY want! Here’s how it works.
You need one place to contain all of this extra coinage, such as…um…a jar! Figure out what it is that you plan to save for. Let’s use my last change jar purchase as our example. Say you are saving for an Amazon Kindle. Create a chart with a box that represents each dollar. In this case, there would be about 150 boxes. As you add your change to the jar, mark off every dollar you put in. It is so fun watching the boxes fill up as you get closer and closer to your goal!
Believe me, it adds up fast and is a great way NOT to break the budget for those things you want. So rethink the “piggy bank being for just your kids” and learn to use and love every dime!
