Pend List

There’s so much to remember and it’s hard to keep track of everything.  Have you ever ordered something only to forget about it until it arrived?  Good thing the company you ordered from was reliable or you wouldn’t have even known you didn’t get it.

One solution to that problem is to keep a pend list.  It can be on your computer, in your planner, on your calendar or hanging on the wall above your desk.  The main thing is that you faithfully record anything and everything you’re waiting for, including the following:

  • Test Results.
  • Orders (include the date, company name and anticipated date of delivery).
  • Books on loan.
  • Refund checks.
  • Checks from individuals.
  • Information you’ve requested.
  • A return phone call.
  • Confirmations.
  • Rebates.

Anything you’re waiting for should be recorded on the pend list.  Check the list weekly and mark off the items that have been received and follow up on the items that are past due.  It’s that simple.
