I love making cookies and I’m always looking for new recipes to try.  I saw this one in Taste of Home magazine and thought it sounded good.  Unfortunately, my milk chocolate chips went missing so I used Heath bits instead.  But my family all agreed this recipe is a winner either way.

  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

In a small mixing bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars.  Add egg; mix well.  Beat in vanilla.  Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.  Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.  Bake at 350 for 11-14 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove to wire racks.  Yield:  3-1/2 dozen
