I got this recipe from my mother-in-law and use it frequently. It’s tastes great and is fairly quick to make. Sometimes I serve it straight from the oven and other times I slice it, add butter and garlic salt, wrap it in foil and put it back in the oven for a few minutes so the butter can melt. Yummy!
- 3 to 3-1/2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup very warm water
- 1 tbsp. butter
Combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Stir in warm water and butter. Mix in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on floured surface until smooth. Shape dough into loaf. Let rise on greased cookie sheet for 30 to 40 minutes.
After dough has risen, lightly beat an egg and then add 1 or 2 tbsp. milk to egg mixture. Brush over loaf. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
I have bookmarked, Dugg, and I joined the RSS subscription. Thanks! ….
Thank you for the kind words. I hope you continue to enjoy the blog. I really enjoy doing it.
