Are you tired of having your rice boil over and mess up your stove? Are you frustrated with rice that’s too sticky or too dry? The solution is a rice cooker.
You can purchase a rice cooker pretty much anywhere. They range in price from $15 to $100 depending on the size and what kind of bells and whistles it has. Mine is just a plain Jane and makes six cups of rice. It came with a steamer basket but I’ve never used it and don’t know where it is. I just make rice.
To use my rice cooker, all I do is put in one cup of rice and two cups of water. I flip the switch and in about 20 minutes I have perfect rice. Brown rice takes a bit longer. The rice cooker came with recipes for other things you can do, including adding vegetables and meat, but I haven’t tried any of those.
If you don’t want to take the plunge and buy a rice cooker but you’re still sick of making rice on top of the stove, here’s an alternative.
